Winter adventures

It's trade show season, when we get to go out and say hello to lots of the lovely people who carry avindy in their stores, but it's also blizzard season, and the two don't match up well!
Earlier this month, when the south and the northeast got smacked by two big storms right in a row, we had quite a time of it: all our displays and table cloths got stuck in New York, Avril got stuck in New York, Cindy had pneumonia and was stuck at home in Atlanta in the snow BUT we pulled it together! Avril and our new employee Raven made it home two days later on Thursday, Cat and Cindy put together a makeshift booth for our next show at the last minute and poof, here we are with a snowy addition to our booth:
And just to show that it's never a dull moment even without weather shenanigans, here's a crazy local marching band wandering through High Design at the Atlanta Gift Show!
We hope your winter's going well: low on inconvenient snowstorms and high on cocoa consumption.

Welcome aboard!

Please join us in welcoming aboard the newest member of the avindy team. We are really excited to bring on Sarah Curry as our new National Sales Rep. Sarah graduated with honors from UGA with a passion for fashion and business development. She came highly recommended from every professor, boutique owner, and fashionista she worked for in the course of her career. We are really excited for her to be a part of the avindy family and we look forward to joining hands to continue to build avindy!
A huge thank you to everyone who applied for the job or sent applicants our way. We really appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm during this process.

Little known fact: jewelry's not all we make around the avindy studios. Our monthly potluck is a fun way to share recipes and hang out. Since summer is potluck season, we thought we'd share a recent menu -- all made by avindy staff from scratch!

We’ve just gotten back from an amazing trip to the
Sundance Resort Trunk Show, coinciding with the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
Cindy and Avril with Brent Beck
We were incredibly lucky to stay with Brent Beck, who ran
the resort with Robert Redford and later started the catalog with him. We wanted to adopt him and his wife Fae
as an extra set of parents! They were so good to us. Among other things, Brent
is a fabulous cook! Made us gourmet breakfast every morning and soufflés for
dessert at night.
The Trunk Show was a wonderful
experience. We got to show a little
bit of everything – new pieces, one of a kind pieces, pieces from our holiday
collection. Gemstones, diamonds, the works.

We’ve always had a very special place in our heart for the
Sundance Catalog, since it led Avril to her initial interest in beading. Plus the celebrities were out in force: we saw Robert
Redford and Bill Gates!

In these tumultuous economic times, I am compelled to express my sincere gratitude to our wonderful staff and our fabulous customers. We are blessed at avindy with ten talented, dedicated, hard-working women and over 300 top notch boutiques that carry our jewelry. As avindy continues to grow, every day is an adventure. There is always a buzz of activity at the studio and we work together to bring you all the finest quality jewelry, the most unusual and beautiful designs and, as you all know, the best customer service! So a HUGE thanks to my girls, to my boutique owners and to all of you enthusiastic and loyal avindy.com customers. You make our world go round!
Our holiday collection is about reflection. We have groovy diamond peace signs to remind us how important it is to support and strive for peace in the world and at home. Our Earth Collection reminds us to be delicate with our footprints on the Earth and join together to revolutionize our approach to protecting the environment. Our evil eye pendants remind us to be cognizant of the evil in the world while at the same time, inspire us to be better people. It is our hope that avindy jewelry will continue to inspire us to rise above and be giving, be honest, be good. Life is too short and too precious to have it any other way!
